Join Us for 87th East Poultney Day – “Lakes, Mountains and Summer”

The Poultney Historical Society is planning a special 87th East Poultney Day for Saturday, August 12 from 9-3pm. This year’s theme is “Lakes, Mountains, and Summer” and focuses on beautiful Lake St. Catherine.

The day’s events include performances by Vermont singer/songwriter Breanna Elaine and the always-popular Hermit Hollow String Band.

The Lake Saint Catherine Association will give presentations on the lake’s history and educators Dale and Joan Prouty will present on 19th century schools. The society’s three historical buildings will be open with new exhibits on the lake, Green Mountain College, and Poultney’s history as a farming community.

The bounce house will keep kids amused. Champ, the mascot of the Vermont Lake Monsters, will be on hand for selfies.

Stewart’s Shop is once again donating ice cream for the Great American Ice Cream Social, and attendees will vote on their favorite flavor.
